Phase Two: New Beginnings, More to Come

New Castle-Henry County Public Library opened the first phase of its building program last month. The new addition is housing all library services while the existing library buildings are being renovated. When the project is complete, the entire facility will be under one roof.

During this phase, the library entrance is facing the Arts Park. The main circulation desk is in the Children's Library, located just inside the entrance to the right.

Some of the exciting new services available at the library include listening rooms to "preview" CDs, DVDs and videos, a self-checkout station on the second level, and an expanded Indiana Room. Additionally, the audiovisual area now features a movie store-style layout, where patrons can select their material and take it to be checked out.

The library staff has appreciated the patience of patrons during this time of transition.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete in the late summer of 2005.
